Wow! Students had an opportunity to present their dog park research and discovery with an important audience today. Some students prepared keynote slide presentations, some students shared posters, and other students handed out data that has been gathered and sorted.      Who attended the meeting on December 19th?

Mr. Steve Buck, Sanford Town Manager
Mr. Tony Maurno, organizer, committee member Ogunquit Dog Park
Mr. Joe McKenney, organizer, committee member Biddeford Dog Park
Mr. Steve Jacobsen, executive director, Animal Welfare Society
Ms. Lauren Masellas, Sanford Animal Control Officer

Several other interested community members also attended!  Students shared a new mission statement they created.  They talked about some important facts and statistics about dog ownership in Sanford and our country.  They also discussed the good and bad things about having a dog park in town.  Current data from our online survey was shared.  Everyone felt the meeting was productive.  Next step?  Mrs. Lacroix, Ms. Masellas, Mr. Jacobsen, and one lucky student will schedule a meeting  at the Town Hall to speak with Sanford's property sub committee, Mr. Buck, and recreation director, Marcel Blouin. It is now time to begin looking at possible land that could be used for a dog park!
